Most of the San Fernando Valley falls within Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the state’s largest district at roughly 419,929 students across 785 schools, with approximately 58.9% of students socioeconomically disadvantaged and roughly 16% enrolled in special education (about 65,088 students). LAUSD organizes the Valley into several internal “Local Districts” and Communities of Schools (for example, Local District Northwest covers the Canoga Park/Chatsworth, Cleveland, Kennedy, Monroe, Reseda, and Taft communities) rather than administering the Valley as one undifferentiated region — each of our neighborhood-specific pages below reflects that.
