Blue Horizons only lists training we actually provide, require, or verify — not a generic claim of “fully trained staff.” Here is exactly what that covers, and where it applies conditionally rather than universally.
Training Every Aide Receives
- AB 1172 training — California’s required training for personnel working with students with disabilities
- Mandated reporter training — recognizing and reporting suspected abuse or neglect
- Verbal de-escalation — calming strategies for a student in distress, short of any physical intervention technique
- Confidentiality — student privacy and FERPA-aligned handling of records and information
- Professional boundaries — appropriate conduct with students, families, and school staff
- Incident reporting — how and when to document and escalate an incident
- District-specific onboarding — the procedures, expectations, and points of contact specific to each school or district placement
Training and Clearances That Apply by Placement
Some training and clearances apply when a specific placement requires them, rather than to every aide regardless of assignment:
- CPR / First Aid / AED — where the placement requires it
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) — only where an aide holds current, active CPI certification; we do not represent that every aide is CPI-certified
- Toileting and personal care — for placements, such as our Behavioral Technician role, where a student’s plan calls for that level of support
- TB clearance — per district and California school-employment requirements
What This Means for a District or Family
If a specific placement requires a credential not listed here, or requires confirmation that an assigned aide holds current CPI certification, contact us before the placement begins so we can confirm it’s in place — rather than assuming every aide carries every certification by default.
